I'm Mahalakshmi Venkatesh, a Software Engineer by profession and a free-spirited traveler, by passion. A few years ago, a graduate from an Indian Engineering college set out to pursue a masters degree in the UK, in the hope of establishing herself in the corporate world. A chance encounter with an enthusiastic Chinese roommate who enjoyed holidaying, introduced her to the expensive dream of traveling the world! Part-time jobs like event management and tutoring helped ends meet, and the few bucks left behind, were promptly invested in air tickets and a 2nd hand camera. With the camera emerged a cameraman, who made some more pocket money for officially covering university events. With the little time left on the daily schedule, dedicated study plans took precedence over chasing an extravagant social life. And lo! She completed her post-graduate course to join a semiconductors firm that paved way for sustaining the dream. The frugal lifestyle of the now-seasoned travel planner took her places on the globe that were unknown to her, after another bucket-list destination was exhausted on the world map. All in all, the 38 countries (and counting) traveled in 3 years exposed her to experiences that gave her '_my_travel_story'.
